A Season of Collaboration, Advocacy, and Momentum
As the final quarter of 2023 settles, it’s time to turn the page and raise the sails of anticipation for the year ahead. But before we embark on a new year, we should take a moment to reflect on our small wins and learnings that propelled us through a season of collaboration, advocacy, and unwavering momentum.
This past quarter was busy for us at TIPNG. We hosted a chapter exchange with Transparency International Vanuatu, forging bonds of solidarity and sharing knowledge and experiences that will strengthen our collective fight for transparency across the Pacific.
We launched our 2024 corporate membership program, inviting businesses to join our cause and opening up the opportunity to engage with them in building better governance in PNG. Our relentless advocacy for better elections reached new heights as the Special Parliamentary Committee on the 2022 elections tabled its report, incorporating our recommendations for robust electoral integrity – an important victory for democracy in Papua New Guinea!
On the global stage, our voices resonated loud and clear at the UN Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption (CoSP10). Read more about this on page 12. In January 2024, we will host the 12th Mike Manning Youth Democracy Camp in Port Moresby to build their understanding of good governance. We also have onboard with us students undergoing their internship and training with us. We hope that these young people that we engage through our programs will become anti-corruption champions with the tools and knowledge to build a just society.
As we set our sights on 2024, our focus is clear. We will continue to campaign for strengthened electoral integrity, empower citizens, champion ethical business practices, and foster a culture of transparency that permeates every corner of Papua New Guinea. We need your unwavering support, your commitment, and your voice. Join us through our 2024 membership. Wishing you all a joyous Christmas and looking forward to engaging with you in 2024.
Yours in Partnership.
