Your Vote is Your Voice – Participate in the 2027 Electoral Roll Update

Friday 22nd May 2026, Port Moresby – The strength of Papua New Guinea’s democracy depends on the active participation of its citizens, but you can only exercise your democratic right if your name is correctly recorded on the National Common Roll. As Papua New Guinea prepares for the 2027 National General Election, TIPNG campaigns for the accuracy and transparency of the Electoral Roll.

Why should you care?
▪️Your Right to Vote: Ensuring your name is correctly registered means you will be able to vote during elections in 2027.
▪️Ensuring Fairness: Participating in the roll verification and enrollment process will ensure the roll is clean and reliable.
▪️Better Representation: Accurate voter numbers during polling ensure our communities receive the right allocation of resources, services, and representation.

This Electoral Roll Update & Verification Process information material helps you understand the process. It was developed by TIPNG in collaboration with the PNG Electoral Commission.

What can you do right now?

▪️Make it a priority to visit your provincial electoral office or designated ward registration booth to check that your name is enlisted for  2027.
▪️Check the notices provided by the PNG Electoral Commission regularly for updates to ensure you participate.
▪️Building a credible process starts with a clean Electoral Roll. When voter rolls are accurate, our democracy stays strong.

The time to protect our democracy is not on election day—it starts right now!
