Q3 Newsletter 2024 is out!

As we conclude the third quarter of 2024, I am filled with a sense of pride and optimism for the future of Transparency International Papua New Guinea (TIPNG). Our organization continues to be a beacon of hope, tirelessly working to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance.

This quarter has been marked by several significant milestones. One of our most notable achievements is the successful relaunch of the Youth Against Corruption Association (YACA). Originally established in 2007, YACA has empowered young people to become agents of change, addressing issues that affect their communities and promoting good citizenship.

We were honored to host Mr. François Valérian, the Global Chair of Transparency International, during his visit to Papua New Guinea. This historic event underscores our chapter’s commitment to transparency and accountability, and solidifies our position as a leading voice in the global anti-corruption movement.

Another key focus this quarter has been our advocacy efforts on the Government of Papua New Guinea’s Civil Society Organizations policy. We have expressed our concerns about the potential for increased corruption and the undermining of civil society freedoms. TIPNG remains committed to advocating for policies that promote transparency, accountability, and citizen participation.

In addition to these major initiatives, we have actively engaged with young people through various platforms, including the Mike Manning Youth Democracy Program. Our team has been invited to speak at numerous events, inspiring and empowering the next generation of leaders.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our financial members for their continued support. Your contributions have been instrumental in enabling us to achieve our goals. We encourage you to renew your membership for 2025 and join us in our mission to create a more transparent and accountable Papua New Guinea.
