OGP PARTICIPANTS GUIDE

PNG OGP

PNG made its intentions known to become an OGP country following a bilateral meeting in Bali, Indonesia in 2014, and was officially announced as an OGP implementing country in Mexico in 2015 by cabinet endorsement in a NEC Decision No. 285/2015. Since then, national CSOs including Transparency international PNG have been instrumental in supporting PNG OGP implementation in the country.

PNG OGP National Action Plan Co-creation

The first PNG OGP National Action Plan (NAP) 2018-2021 was endorsed in 2018. Implementation was largely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, a wide consultation was held among government agencies, CSOs, and private sector to formulate the second PNG OGP NAP 2022-2024 and was endorsed by NEC Decision 138/2022. Implementation period will lapse in 2024.
